On Friday 27th September, we held our first ever Macmillan Coffee Morning!
We have recently had some new tenants move into the Needspace? building at Crawley Business Centre. Steelo Ltd, who are a company that provide structural steel fabricators, and Ground Control Limited, who are one of the UK’s leading landscaping and external solutions providers for the Commercial sector.
Our wonderful Jo decided that this would be a great opportunity to get everyone together and welcome our new tenants to the Needspace? community, whilst also raising some money for a worthy cause.
We were inundated with cake donations, both homemade and shop-bought, from tenants and staff alike. The ladies at Metrorod made chocolate brownies, a banoffee pie and an authentic Polish cake. There were homemade cupcakes brought in by RMJPI, and Steelo Ltd came along with a large selection of doughnuts, cupcakes and pastries. Not to be outdone, Jo herself came along with her delicious homemade chocolate orange cheesecake, chocolate and banana loaf cake and some apple and cinnamon muffins!
With the tea and coffee flowing and sweet treats aplenty, everyone came together in the spirit of charity, community and, of course, cakes! It was a pleasure to take the time to spend some time together as the extended family of businesses that we are, to have a little break from the working day, and make a difference in the process.
The Macmillan team provide physical, financial and emotional support to help people and help them live their life as fully as they can. In 2018, Macmillan made a difference to the lives of 1.9 million people – giving them in-depth, personal support. That’s 300,000 more people than in the previous year.
Thank you to the volunteers, supporters, partners, professionals and employees for all that they have done to give people with cancer the support they need.
Many thanks, too, to all who attended our Macmillan Coffee Morning. We raised a grand total of £117!
