Over the past four years, Wates employees, supported by Wates Giving, the charitable programme run by the Wates Family Enterprise Trust, have raised over £360,000 for The Prince’s Trust charity, exceeding the original fundraising target, and helping nearly 600 disadvantaged young people gain access to employment or training. This partnership has now come to an end and Wates Group corporate charity partnership for the next 3 years will be with The Conservation Volunteers (TVC) www.tvc.org.uk
A key part of the partnership will be the opportunity for Wates employees to take part in volunteering on TCV projects, not only supporting TCV’s conservation work, but also helping to improve employees’ health and well-being.
A small army of charity champions from all sectors within the Wates Group have volunteered themselves to assist with co-ordinating fund-raising events and to encourage colleagues to get involved. We are pleased to announce that Jeanette Jones, Centre Manager for Earlsfield Business Centre will be Needspace’s? first charity champion. We wish her lots of luck and we know that she will do a great job in representing Needspace? and her clients at the Earlsfield Business Centre in supporting Wates and their chosen charity, The Conservation Volunteers. Good luck Jeanette!
